Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Tuesday held a strategic engagement with the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), reaffirming the party’s unity and shared commitment to Ghana’s development.

In a statement issued by the Office of the Vice President and shared with the Ghana News Agency, the meeting was described as a show of solidarity from the party’s top brass. The delegation, led by NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia and General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, included other prominent members of the party’s leadership.

The visit, according to the statement, was to offer goodwill and reaffirm the party’s unwavering support for the Vice President.

“I am deeply grateful for their continued prayers, solidarity, and encouragement,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said in response.

She expressed appreciation for the strong sense of unity and family spirit that defines the NDC, urging the leadership to uphold this cohesion even amid challenges. Emphasizing the need to remain focused, she encouraged the team to stay committed to the transformative work already underway.

“As we forge ahead, I call for a renewed collective effort toward the national reset agenda led by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama,” she stated. “Together, let us work to deliver on our commitments for the advancement of our beloved nation.”

The meeting comes at a time when the NDC is intensifying internal consolidation efforts ahead of the 2028 general elections.
