In a significant boost to local agriculture, 5,000 bags of NPK fertilizer and 1,500 bags of Urea have been released for distribution to registered vegetable farmers in Techiman North. The initiative, spearheaded by the Honourable Lawyer Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Member of Parliament for Techiman North and Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, is aimed at supporting over 2,000 farmers across the district.

The fertilizers are expected to enhance productivity and improve yields as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the agricultural value chain in the Bono East Region.

The Department of Agriculture has been tasked with ensuring fair, efficient, and transparent distribution of the inputs to all registered beneficiaries.

“This initiative is a clear demonstration of our commitment to empowering farmers and feeding the nation. Together, we will build the Ghana we want. We owe it to our generation—we cannot afford to fail them,” a statement read during the announcement.

The gesture reinforces the government’s broader agricultural agenda to promote food security, create jobs, and uplift rural livelihoods through sustained support for local farmers.
